Etomidate is a rapid-onset, short-acting intravenous anesthetic used primarily for the induction of general anesthesia. It is formulated as an injectable solution and is available in a 20 mg/10 mL concentration, packaged in single-dose vials for sterile administration. Etomidate is classified as an imidazole derivative and is known for its minimal cardiovascular and respiratory effects, making it a preferred choice for patients with compromised hemodynamics.

As a general anesthetic, Etomidate is typically administered intravenously to induce anesthesia for short surgical procedures, as well as for sedation in intensive care settings.
